What you should know about Montessori Childrens House Wanaka
I have thoroughly enjoyed working closely with the families and children at MCHW as the istrator since the start of 2009. I enjoy my gardens, time with family and friends, following football and getting out of bed in the morning to see my Montessori friends. I grew up in Wales but moved to New Zealand nearly 10 years ago with my husband Gareth and our daughter Anna. For the last 9 years, I have worked in Early Childhood Education, where I discovered my passion for working with young children.
In November 2013, I graduated with a Bachelor of Teaching ECE . In my spare time I enjoy being amongst nature, tramping, camping, and mountain biking, appreciating the spectacular scenery. I have been working in Montessori environments for 4 years having first discovered the Montessori philosophy while working as a Nanny in 2008. I especially love working with the under three’s and observing each child’s individual development everyday is a joyful adventure, filled with new discoveries, in a Toddler Community. I I am look forward working alongside the community at Montessori Children’s House Wanaka.
Hello, I have lived in the Wanaka Hawea area for the past 15 years with my husband, I became an Early Childhood teacher in 200 and have had the privilege of teaching within the Wanaka Early childhood community since then apart from a year teaching in Central Queensland in 2011. Kia ora koutou, My name is Leesa and I have recently moved to Central Otago for the lifestyle with my husband Tim and our Australian Kelpie Sanso. Having spent time down here 10 years ago, we knew we always wanted to come back to live. After travelling, studying and living in other cities we’ve recently brought our first home in Cromwell and are looking forward to enjoying the awesome outdoor lifestyle that this beautiful region has to offer.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and am currently 1 paper away from completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Montessori. I am very passionate about teaching in early childhood and marvel everyday at the incredible learning I see happening all around me. I love the freedom and independence children are given in Montessori environments as they constantly work towards being the best they can be!. Montessori philosophy has inspired my life a lot and love to pass it on to beautiful Wanaka and its children. I have been employed at Montessori Children’s House Wanaka since 2012 and have lived in Wanaka with my husband and two children since 2006. Both our children attended Montessori and thoroughly enjoyed their preschool education.
It is very rewarding working with children and watching them develop over the years. I enjoy going to the gym, walking and most of all watching my children play their team sports, football, rugby and netball
